event horizon (1): a boundary in spacetime surrounding a black hole, beyond which events cannot affect an outside observer.
event horizon (2): a series of songs and sketches on the boundary of public entertainment from the spacetime of twenty-somethings, and beyond which events will adversely affect an outside observer.
What happens in the boundary between adolescence and adulthood? The period in our lives when teenagers leave home to start work or college, and when parents have to let-go and their children learn to stand on their own two feet?
“Event Horizon” is a compendium of songs, sketches and monologues covering the comic and sometimes tragic events drawn from the company’s own stories and experiences of the move from living at home to being out in the big wide world.
Whichever way you look through the telescope, whether from the life of the twenty-something or from the security of middle age, you’ll see sights that will move you to laughter or tears.
