Running from the chaos and confusion of a street battle, two teenagers hide out in a derelict building where the discovery of an old pistol takes them back to the world of The Highwayman 250 years ago. Friendships are made and broken, promises are pledged and betrayed, and ultimately blood is spilled.

Is the Highwayman any different to the knife-mugging youths on the streets today? Are the two boys heading toward a similar fate? Or does the gruesome death re-played by the characters from the past teach the boys a lesson for the future?
