Jump the Moat is a professional theatre company whose aim is to produce high quality theatre with a particular emphasis on work for and with schools and young people. We tour to primary and secondary schools in the area, and to professional theatre venues further a field.
We tour productions that are linked to the National Curriculum, to topical issues, or to the world in which young people live.
We produce Teachers’ Packs and interactive workshops to support and supplement the content of the theatre productions.
We provide drama-based workshops to augment components of the National Curriculum and Literacy Framework, and to support teaching staff in the delivery of key topics.
We deliver master-class workshops in preparation for examination based Drama at all levels, and to support components of SATs at Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3.




Jenny has a First Class Honours in Entertainment Design Crafts from Cleveland College of Art and Design.
Her design and creative experience is very broad-based and covers everything from community and youth arts to professional set and props construction. For the last 6 years she has been working with The Willows Arts Centre, Corby, and has worked on many amateur productions and a selection of professional shows including ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Women of Steel’ at The Arc, also in Corby. Last Christmas Jenny was working on ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ at Campus West Theatre in Welwyn Garden City.
Mark has worked with Shakespeare4Kidz; Vital Stages; SNAP Theatre Company; Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company; The Castle Theatre, Wellingborough; Blunderbus; Company Gavin Robertson; and Sixth Sense Theatre for Young People. He has toured Shakespeare through the UK and Europe with Theatre Set-Up, and productions with Rainbow Theatre in Worthing and Greenwich Park.
He has recently worked as a guest director and tutor for the University of Northampton on their BA Acting course, and has directed a number of community projects in the area.
As an experienced teacher he is well aware of the importance of subject matter to workshop material and as an experienced performer he is aware of the importance of presenting material in an engaging, moving and entertaining way.
