Written in 1963, “Stig of the Dump” is possibly more familiar to teachers and parents than to many primary school pupils, but it is now a classic of children’s literature.
When Barney stays with his Granny, he goes exploring around the old chalk quarry, now just a pit full of rubbish. But when the ground gives way beneath his feet, he falls into the dump and meets Stig, a young caveman.
Despite a complete lack of common language, Barney and Stig learn to understand each other and their adventure begins.
Join them as they recycle junk, battle the Snargets, beat the burglars, and travel back to the people of the Stone Age.
